BEST EVER SWEET POTATO FRIES

I have spent too much of my life making sweet potato fries with just salt and pepper. These french fries are the perfect mushy to crisp ratio with a ton of delicious flavor. It’s all in the spices, I tell ya!

A sprinkle of garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, cumin, dried basil, dried parsley and celery salt makes these the best sweet potato fries you’ve ever had. I prefer to take the easy way out. I slice my sweet potatoes, scatter the fries on a greased pan and spinkle with seasoning. Toss ’em around a bit and sprinkle a the rest of the seasoning.

If you’re less lazy than me, go ahead and toss your best ever sweet potato fries in the seasoning in a bowl before scattering on your pan for a 360° seasoning effect.

Obviously these fries are great for snacking right off the pan, but I also love pairing them with a burger or sandwich. My favorite? Putting them atop a hamburger salad. It’s one of the easiest dinners in our house; right under the ONE BOWL SPRING ROLL.

The magic mix of a hamburger salad? Romaine lettuce, a grilled burger, tomatoes, pickles, best ever sweet potato fries and a drizzle of spicy mustard. BOOM!

BEST EVER SWEET POTATO FRIES

Serves: 6

Prep time: 35 minutes

3 large sweet potatoes

3 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp salt

1 tbsp paprika

2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp pepper

1 tsp dried basil

1 tsp dried parsley

1/2 tspn celery salt

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cut sweet potatoes lengthwise into 1/2 inch thick wedges.
  3. Toss with olive oil and spices in a bowl. Alternatively, you can lay fries out on a greased sheet pan, then sprinkle with spices and toss. If you choose the latter, be sure the fries are coated in olive oil before adding spices so that they stick!
  4. Transfer to sheet pan, scattering fries into one flat layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  5. If you like your fries super crispy, broil for a inute ro two before removing from the oven. Let cool for five minutes, serve and enjoy!
