People ask all the time how I fit everything in one day! Fitness, blogging, working at SWA, cooking, social life… it’s a lot to handle. Quite honestly, if you are passionate about something and you want it bad enough YOU WILL MAKE THE TIME.
And that’s why when I share my morning routine with you, it starts at 5:30 am.
Rise and shine! When I wake up, I’m sure to drink a full glass of water while getting dressed for my workout. After dehydrating my body all night, water gets my metabolism moving, aids digestion, hydrates me and helps flush toxins out of my body.
Let’s get movin’! I’m off to start my day with a sweat. I love switching up my workout routine to keep it interesting and exercise different muscles. I’m all about the group fitness classes. I love how they hold me accountable and create a community environment. Nobody wants to pay that last minute cancellation fee, so you can bet your bottom dollar I will have my tushy in that studio on time. My two favorite workouts are hot yoga and spin. Home from my workout. I could basically do nothing the rest of the day and still feel accomplished. Isn’t that a beautiful thing?
When I walk in the door I start my coffee and cool down from my workout while sipping a glass of ACV + fresh lemon juice + water. ACV may lower blood sugar levels and promote good gut bacteria (probiotics!). Lemon juice boosts your immune system and aids in digestion. Both regulate your pH!
If you’ve never tried apple cider vinegar before, I would recommend starting with 1/2 tbsp mixed with 8 oz of water. You can add honey or agave too to sweeten the taste! Work your way up to a higher dose of ACV. I use 2 tbsp. It’s also important that you purchase raw unfiltered ACV WITH THE MOTHER. You’ll notice a sizable price difference for the bottle without the mother. The mother is the culture of beneficial bacteria, like the scoby in kombucha!
I hop in the shower and get dressed for work. I know this sounds weird, but I really like showering in the dark. It’s just so calming to me and somehow the darkness allows me to clear my mind and keep from being overwhelmed by my to do list of the day.
It’s easy for me to feel rushed out the door in the morning, so I make a conscious effort to slow down and enjoy my time. There is no one standing at my desk with a stopwatch and if I scurry out the door, my whole day will be ridden with stress and anxiety. This is the time to set the tone for my day.
Grub time. Let’s talk coffee first. My morning coffee is quite the concoction. I mix almond milk, maca, collagen peptides and a dash of cinnamon with my coffee. This hand held frother is a game changer.
Vitamins! I start my day with Nature’s Way Alive! Once Daily Women’s Ultra Potency Multivitamins, Probiotics and Vitex. More about Vitex and why I take it here. Alive! Multivitamins help support my busy bee lifestyle. They’re the best way to get all my daily vitamins and minerals in! I love that Alive! Multi-Vitamins have more vitamins and minerals at 100% or more of their recommended daily value than other vitamins, plus a full B-vitamin complex to help convert food into cellular energy.
I’m a big savory breakfast person. I love taking the time to cook up a breakfast hash with lots of veggies, a fried egg and some avocado- like this Chipotle Sweet Potato Hash! I always prep a big batch of roasted veggies on Sunday for this purpose. This way I just reheat my hash on the stove top while I fry up my egg and I’m ready to roll.
Another favorite for when my kitchen is a little low on the fresh veggies is a smoothie. I like to keep it simple with My Go To Green Smoothie. Smoothies are ideal when I’m running a little tighter on time too.
Out the door to work. I snag my prepped lunch from the fridge and cruise on over to the SWA hangar to crunch some numbers.
What about you?
